Big changes
Published May/June 2001

To all my loyal readers looking for the print version of the May/June 2001 issue, you aren’t going crazy! Because of the overwhelming response of seniors and professionals from across the country, Home Front Magazine is now strictly an online publication. I have tried to devote equal time to both the online and print version of the magazine, but after some newly sprouted gray hairs and many sleep-deprived days, I had to make a choice. If only cloning was a true option!

The new online-only Home Front Magazine will be growing before your eyes. We will continue to show aging and this new “phase” of life in a fun and positive light, while still dealing with the serious topics you ask about. We will be reaching older adults in different housing communities, recreational centers, support groups, health care centers, and private homes from north to south and east to west. Professionals will continue to visit our site as well and with the time now devoted exclusively to the online version, you’ll be seeing a real growth in participation. It is quite exciting. We have also been working on a massive “links” section which will list many of the informational and supportive services you have been inquiring about. Keep a look out for that in the very near future.

As a gerontologist it is very rewarding to be able to promote a healthy view of aging and reach a lot of people doing so. We now have the freedom and time to incorporate all the resources around us. This new direction of Home Front Magazine will help get the word out to the masses that age is indeed a “state of mind.”
