Not all dogs live the easy life sleeping away the day. Take a look at the Top 5 Most Loved Canine Actors that warmed our hearts.

1. Rin Tin Tin – German Shepherd (He was rescued from a WWI battlefield and worked in over 25 films).
2. Terry The Terrier –Cairn Terrier (He was best known for playing Toto in The Wizard Of Oz and Rags in Bright Eyes).
3. Pal – Collie (He was the original Lassie in 7 movies and on the first two pilot episodes of the tv show. He was the father to the dogs that took his place on the show).
4. Moose – Jack Russel Terrier (He played Eddie on the tv show Frasier – and was replace by Moose’s son Enzo when he retired).
5. Higgins – Mixed Breed – (He was best known for the title role in the movie Benji and in episodes of the 1960s tv show Petticoat Junction. Higgins was found in a California animal shelter).
