April 2016 TOP 5While April showers bring May flowers, they can put a real damper on a day you set aside to spend with your grandkids. With a little bit of effort and planning, you can make sure the day is not a wash- out.  According to Parents.com, the following suggestions are the Top 5 kid-friendly activities for a rainy day.

#1 Instant StorySomebody starts with an opening line and the others take turns adding to the story.

#2 VideographyHave the child write a script and pick the characters. Then videotape it for all to enjoy.

#3 Mini MuseumSet up a space for children to create a small museum (deciding on a theme and displays). When completed, have them exhibit what they have made.

#4 Pretend PlayGive children a big box of clothes and accessories and encourage them to be anyone they want to be. Maybe they will even want to put on a performance.

#5 Scavenger HuntMake a list of things for your child to find around the house and give out a small prize when completed.
